Make an impact supporting students across multiple schools as a floating paraprofessional! This contract opportunity is based near Maple Grove, MN, and offers guaranteed weekly hours covering call outs throughout a large, diverse district. Six paraprofessionals are needed to join teams serving elementary, middle, and high schools, collaborating with special education staff and assisting students with behavioral and academic needs.
What You’ll Bring:
- Meet Minnesota’s Highly Qualified Paraprofessional criteria: either passing the MN Para Educator Exam or possessing at least 60 college credits. College transcripts must be provided.
- Previous experience working in schools and supporting students with behavioral challenges.
- Flexibility to serve in various settings, which may include 1:1 assignments, classroom aide roles, and students with behavior intervention plans (BIPs).
- Willingness to assist with toileting and personal care tasks as needed.
- Reliable transportation for travel between schools within assigned district clusters.
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented approach.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fill in for school staff absences across assigned district clusters. Locations include Champlin Park, Coon Rapids, Blaine, Anoka, Andover, and the Rivertrail Learning Center.
- Work in SPED classrooms supporting students with a range of academic and behavioral needs.
- Quickly adapt to different school environments and classroom dynamics.
- Respond to supervisor call outs and communicate promptly regarding availability.
