Junior Immigration Attorney

Job Overview A law firm seeks a dedicated Junior Immigration Attorney in Houston, TX. This role involves providing expert legal counsel and representation on diverse immigration matters, helping clients navigate complex laws efficiently. The position offers a chance to make a meaningful impact through advocacy and strategic planning. Duties Represent and defend clients in removal proceedings. Prepare cases for Immigration Judge and BIA. Support individual and master calendar hearings. Draft motions, briefs, and petitions. Conduct initial client interviews under supervision. Perform legal research and case updates. Coordinate with paralegals and support staff. Track procedural deadlines. Review and analyze evidence for case building. Communicate directly with clients regarding case status. Assist in client preparation for hearings. Requirements Juris Doctor (J.D.). Active license to practice in Texas. Knowledge of removal defense and immigration court proceedings. Fluent in English (oral and written). Intermediate to fluent Spanish highly valued. Proficiency in digital tools and legal software. Strong client communication skills. Education Juris Doctor (J.D.) Certifications Texas State Bar License Skills Legal research and writing Client communication Case management Fluency in English and Spanish Benefits Direct mentorship from senior attorneys.
