Job Description

This role focuses on precision TIG welding of 316L stainless steel components to produce high-quality finished products that meet strict dimensional and visual standards. You will read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols, fit and tack assemblies, and complete welds using a variety of fabrication tools in a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform TIG welding on 316L stainless steel components in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications.

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and weld symbols to determine weld requirements, joint preparation, and sequence of operations.

• Fit, align, and tack stainless steel parts and assemblies to ensure proper dimensions and alignment prior to final welding.

• Complete welds that meet established quality, dimensional, and visual requirements, including inspection of weld beads and joints.

• Use grinders, polishers, and other fabrication tools to clean, blend, and finish welded components to specified standards.

• Verify measurements and tolerances during and after welding to ensure parts meet specification.

• Maintain a clean, organized work area and handle tools and equipment safely and correctly.

• Follow all shop procedures, safety guidelines, and quality standards throughout the welding and fabrication process.

Essential Skills

• Proven TIG welding experience specifically with 316L stainless steel.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and weld symbols accurately.

• Strong skills in fitting, tacking, and welding stainless steel components to precise specifications.

• Demonstrated ability to produce welds that meet quality, dimensional, and visual inspection requirements.

• Proficiency in using grinders, polishers, and common fabrication tools to complete and finish welded products.

• At least 5 years of relevant welding and fabrication experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience working in a production or fabrication shop environment.

• Comfort working on multiple shifts and performing overtime when required.

• Attention to detail and a strong focus on quality and consistency.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced setting.

Work Environment

This position is based in a fabrication shop environment working with stainless steel components and standard welding and finishing equipment, including TIG welders, grinders, and polishers. Multiple shifts are available, including a first shift starting at 6:00 a.m. Monday through Friday with Saturday overtime as needed, and a second shift starting at 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday with Saturday overtime as needed. The work involves standing for extended periods, handling metal materials, and working around welding arcs, noise, and shop machinery while following all safety procedures and wearing appropriate protective equipment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Vernon, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
