Senior Systems & Technology Analyst Job Summary The University of Utah's Office of the Registrar is seeking adetail oriented and tech savvy professional to support the administration, maintenance, and future planning of studentsystems. This role collaborates across departments to streamlineprocesses and support the successful deployment of technologies,including third party systems that support registrar operations andStudent Information System (SIS). The Senior Systems & Technology Analyst is responsible forsupporting system delivered enhancements and their configuration;defining technical and functional business requirements;coordinating testing and validation of SIS updates; developing andmaintaining queries; and troubleshooting data, processes, andsystem functionality within the Registrar's Office. This position assists in advancing departmental, division, andinstitutional goals and works closely with the Associate Registrar,technical staff, and functional users to determine priorities,timelines, and adoption strategies for new technologies andfunctionality. Responsibilities Assist in reviewing, submitting, and managing service requestsfrom the Registrar's Office and University departments formodifications and enhancements to the Student Information System(PeopleSoft), related web applications, and the development of newreports. Coordinate with University Support Services (USS) andrequestors throughout the lifecycle of each request untilcompletion. Coordinate user testing with USS for SIS and third-partyupdates, fixes, and new approaches to improve the userexperience. Assist with testing, documentation, and training related to SISand third-party systems functionality, updates, andenhancements. Collaborate with functional and technical teams to test,implement, and deploy SIS and third-party system enhancements. Design, modify, and maintain queries and automated processes tosupport registrar and institutional needs. Perform query-based updates (QBUs) to student records in theSIS to support departmental and institutional functions. Provide technical and functional support for student data andRegistrar systems, including diagnosing issues, troubleshootingsystem errors, and resolving data discrepancies efficiently. Respond to internal and external data requests, ensuringaccuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with university policiesand FERPA regulations. Participate in meetings with internal and external stakeholdersto provide input on requirements, timelines, and businessprocesses. Maintain current knowledge of best practices in highereducation systems and technology. Work closely with the Associate Registrar for Student Systemsand the Manager of Student Systems to support ongoing projects andstrategic initiatives. Perform additional responsibilities as needed to support themission and operations of the Office of the Registrar. Minimum Qualifications Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalency (one year of educationcan be substituted for two years of related work experience) and3-5 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
