Staff Product Safety Engineer

Staff Product Safety Engineer role leading product safety programs for complex medical device projects at Stryker. Responsibilities include ensuring regulatory compliance with electrical and mechanical safety standards, directing safety testing activities, collaborating with certification bodies, and mentoring junior engineers.

Responsibilities

Lead and oversee product safety programs integrating safety requirements throughout development lifecycle
Direct safety testing activities, develop test plans, and ensure third-party certification compliance
Collaborate with external certification bodies and NRTLs to achieve product certifications
Mentor early-career Product Safety Engineers and promote safety culture across teams
Resolve complex safety challenges and provide technical leadership on compliance issues

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
4+ years of engineering experience
Prior experience leading Product Safety Programs for complex R&D projects
Understanding of IEC standards and regulatory compliance requirements
Expertise in electrical hardware, embedded systems, and microcontroller design
Knowledge of medical device safety standards including IEC 60601 series

Compensation: $89,300-$148,800 USD Annual
