We are seeking a dedicated Advanced Medical Support Assistant (AMSA) to provide administrative and patient support services at the Dayton VA Medical Center. In this role, you will be an essential member of the healthcare team, helping coordinate patient care and ensuring Veterans receive timely, high-quality services.

• Length: 6-12 months (option to extend)
• Start Date: ASAP quick credentialing to train/onboard
• Hours: Full-Time | Monday to Friday | 8AM to 4:30PM
• Location: Dayton, OH
• Pay: $22 - $24/Hour

Key Responsibilities

• Schedule, coordinate, and maintain patient appointments.
• Provide receptionist and customer service support to patients and staff.
• Manage administrative functions within the Primary Care team.
• Review and track consults, referrals, recalls, and follow-up activities.
• Update and verify patient demographic and insurance information.
• Answer and screen incoming telephone calls while maintaining privacy standards.
• Coordinate care with VA and community healthcare providers.
• Maintain accurate electronic patient records.
• Participate in daily team huddles and interdisciplinary meetings.
• Support efficient clinic operations through additional administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:

• 2 to 3 years of medical administrative, healthcare support, or related experience; OR
• Certification from an accredited institution related to medical administration.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with patients, healthcare professionals, and administrative staff.
• Experience maintaining accurate records and managing schedules.
• Ability to handle confidential information in compliance with HIPAA and privacy regulations.

• Address: 4100 W Third Street, Dayton, OH 45428
• Work Setting: Onsite
• Hours: Generally Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (subject to facility needs).
