RN - PACU Profession: Nurse Specialty: Staff Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Evening Hours per Shift: 10 hours (1pm - 11pm) Experience: Nursing experience of six (6) months to three (3) years License: Current RN License Certifications: BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross) Must-Have: Prefer candidate to be comfortable titrating vasoactive drips. Common drips include cleviprex and levophed. Managing sedation for vented patients is a priority, using Precedex and Propofol. Description:The Registered Nurse (RN) protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities.Prevention of illness and injury is a key focus, along with alleviating suffering.The RN is responsible and accountable for compliance with all standards of practice.The role includes professional development in accordance with nursing policies and the Code of Ethics.The RN promotes a caring environment for patient-centered care. Responsibilities include: Assessing, planning, delegating, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating nursing care. Managing a group of patients and serving as a primary or accountable nurse when designated. Educating patients and families in health promotion and disease management. Utilizing knowledge of pharmacology to safely administer medications. Sharing in the responsibility for productivity and resource utilization. Complying with nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and policies. Actively participating in the Nursing Shared Governance Model and improvement initiatives. Engaging in professional development and completing mandatory education requirements. Integrating nursing research and current evidence into practice. Providing a supportive learning environment for new employees and students. Performing other duties as assigned. Schedule notes: Evenings shift from 1pm to 11pm, with on-call requirements during the week and weekends. Weekend calls occur every fourth weekend. Required skills and experience include: Collaboration and effective communication skills, both verbal and written. Judgment and critical thinking abilities. Organizational understanding and time management skills. Problem-solving capabilities and a focus on quality, reliability, and safety. Preferred skills and experience: Previous clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting. Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing is preferred. Professional certification in a related nursing specialty is also preferred. Relevant skills certification, such as ACLS, PALS, or TNCC, as required by the assigned unit. #J-18808-Ljbffr
