Shipping & Receiving Lead | Caledonia, MI

Salary Range: $54,000 - $78,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Caledonia that are seeking skilled Shipping & Receiving Leads. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily shipping and receiving operations, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
• Lead and train a team of shipping and receiving associates, fostering a productive work environment.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct regular cycle counts to ensure data integrity.
• Coordinate with production, sales, and logistics teams to optimize material flow and delivery schedules.
• Operate and maintain material handling equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks, in a safe manner.
• Implement and enforce safety protocols and company policies within the shipping and receiving department.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce operational costs.

Recommended Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 3+ years experience in shipping, receiving, or warehousing within a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated leadership experience, including training and directing team members.
• Proficient in using ERP/MRP systems and inventory management software.
• Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment; certification preferred.
• Strong understanding of safety protocols and quality control in a manufacturing setting.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) for inventory management.
• Forklift certification (e.g., counterbalance, reach truck).
• Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles (e.g., 5S, Kaizen).
• Basic understanding of HazMat regulations and handling procedures.
• Proficiency in using barcode scanners and warehouse management software.
