Registered Nurse (RN) - Dialysis

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Hemodialysis department. The nurse will work flexible shifts to provide exceptional patient care in a fast-paced environment, focusing on patients with complex renal and metabolic conditions.

Shift Details

3x12-hour shifts, 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM
Rotating weekends
Float required among multiple locations within the region
Call required on Sunday nights only

Patient Population

The RN will care for a diverse patient population, including those with:

End stage renal disease
Acute kidney injury
Metabolic imbalances
Dialysis access problems
Drug overdoses requiring hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis treatments

Additional care will be provided to apheresis patients with neurologic, renal, and hematologic/oncologic diseases.

Department Information

The Hemodialysis department operates 24/7, offering hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, and apheresis treatments.
The department features 9 treatment bays and 1 isolation room equipped for telemetry monitoring.
Nursing care is provided around the clock by registered nurses supported by certified hemodialysis technicians and nursing staff.
Cardiac monitoring is performed by nursing staff for patients who require telemetry during their treatment.
The average length of stay for patients receiving hemodialysis or apheresis is 4-5 hours.
Treatments for hemodynamically unstable patients in the ICU will occur in the patient's room, with a nurse present throughout the procedure.
Peritoneal dialysis is also carried out in the patient's room.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

A valid Registered Nurse (RN) license
Experience in dialysis or a similar acute care setting is preferred
Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
