Showroom Manager

Our client, an established plumbing supply distributor, is seeking a Showroom Manager to take ownership of its decorative plumbing showroom and build it into a destination for homeowners, designers, architects, builders, contractors, and remodelers.

This is a true builder's role. The successful candidate will begin as a hands-on individual contributor, personally driving showroom sales, developing industry relationships, and helping reimagine the showroom experience. As sales and customer traffic grow, this person will have the opportunity to hire, train, and lead a team.

This opportunity is ideal for someone who wants to create and grow something, not simply maintain an existing operation.

What You Will Do:

Drive Showroom Sales:
• Guide walk-in, appointment, and referred customers from initial ideas through complete product selections
• Prepare accurate quotes, specifications, submittals, and orders for fixtures, faucets, sinks, tubs, showers, toilets, decorative hardware, lighting, and accessories
• Manage each project through ordering, lead times, deliveries, backorders, returns, and warranty resolution
• Build lasting relationships with homeowners, contractors, builders, designers, and architects
• Meet or exceed monthly and annual sales and gross-margin goals
• Coordinate with counter, inside, and outside sales teams to provide contractors with a seamless experience

Shape the Showroom:
• Refresh and re-merchandise the showroom in partnership with key vendors
• Plan displays, coordinate product transitions, and pursue available vendor display programs and cooperative funding
• Maintain current samples, literature, product information, pricing, and display inventory
• Keep the showroom polished, organized, and ready for client appointments
• Coordinate vendor training and product education

Grow the Local Design Community:
• Develop relationships with interior designers, architects, kitchen and bath dealers, remodelers, and custom builders throughout North Jersey
• Encourage design professionals to use the showroom as a resource for their clients
• Organize designer events, vendor days, educational sessions, and showroom appointments
• Participate in relevant design, building, and industry associations
• Represent the business at trade shows, home shows, and community events
• Track leads, referrals, follow-ups, and pipeline activity through the CRM

Build the Future Team:
• Develop the business case for adding showroom staff as sales and traffic increase
• Recruit, train, coach, and lead showroom sales and support professionals
• Establish goals, schedules, service standards, and repeatable processes
• Create a showroom playbook that can support continued growth

What We Are Looking For:
• At least five years of direct plumbing, kitchen and bath, or decorative hardware showroom sales experience
• A proven record of achieving sales goals and building relationships with designers, builders, contractors, and remodelers
• Strong knowledge of decorative plumbing products, finishes, brands, and specification requirements
• Ability to read plans and specifications and build complete project packages
• Experience managing detailed quotes, orders, deliveries, backorders, returns, and customer follow-through
• A polished, confident communication style with homeowners, tradespeople, and design professionals
• The initiative to work independently, organize priorities, and build business without waiting for direction
• Proficiency with an ERP or point-of-sale system and Microsoft Office; CRM experience is helpful
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel locally for customer and designer visits

Experience That Stands Out:
• Experience with a leading plumbing or kitchen and bath distributor
• Existing relationships within the North Jersey design and building community
• Showroom merchandising and vendor display-program experience
• Previous supervisory, team-lead, or training experience
• Design education or an NKBA credential such as AKBD or CKBD

Schedule:


The regular schedule is Monday through Friday, with occasional Sunday mornings and evenings for customer appointments, designer events, and industry activities.
