Job Details Position: Behavioral Health Technician (PRN) Location: Hays, Kansas – Crisis Intervention Center, High Plains Mental Health Center Pay: $19–22 per hour (shift differentials available – $1–3 more per hour) Sign‑On Bonus: $500 Schedule: Up to 28 hrs/wk; at least six 4‑hr weekend shifts or three 8‑hr shifts per month; must work at least two holidays per year Application Deadline: Wednesday, July 29, 2026 at 7:00 am CDT Why You Should Apply Be a part of history. What You’ll Do Provide direct care and supervision to adults in mental health or substance use crises Support patients emotionally through trauma‑informed conversations, de‑escalation, and behavioral coaching Help with daily living needs—meals, hygiene, group activities—and build therapeutic relationships Respond to crises using calm, trained intervention techniques that truly make a difference Ensure safety and accountability, including room checks, contraband searches, and regular patient observation Document behavior and progress to support treatment goals and care planning Collaborate with clinical teams and participate in shift‑change briefings to provide seamless, consistent care Uphold a safe, respectful, and healing environment for every person who walks through our doors Qualifications 21 years of age or older with a high school diploma or equivalent (GED) Pass criminal background checks through the Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) and KDADS Physically and emotionally capable of working in high‑pressure emergency situations Pass a pre‑employment drug screen (random screenings may occur) Maintain a valid driver’s license and pass Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) checks; no substance‑related driving offenses in the past 5 years Submit Your Application Ready to take the next step?
