Rate: $62/HR

Job Summary and Qualifications

Perform direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act, with emphasis on nursing process / outcomes for the Stem Cell Transplant and hematologic disorders patients.

What Qualifications You Will Need:

• Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing
• If hired after 6/1/12, BSN required within 24 months of hire into RN position.
• Experienced Oncology RN with Level 2 Competencies or prior Critical Care experience preferred.
• Current RN license in the State of Texas or compact license
• Experienced as an Oncology Certified Nurse or Blood and Marrow Transplant Certified Nurse is preferred
• Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS Provider American Heart Association required
• Effective 10/01/23, American Heart Association or American Red Cross ACLS required within six months of hire or transfer
• Effective 10/01/23, ONS Chemotherapy biotherapy certificate course required within 60 days of hire or transfer

PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS

All seasonal RNs are required to work a minimum of 72 hours per pay period during the seasonal period.

Within a close geography, you may be asked to float to another facility that has an emergent staffing need.

Four (4) weekend shifts are required each 4 week schedule period.

During the course of the 32-week period, the employee is required to work two (2) holiday shifts (defined by Department Manager or designee).

Seasonal Staff are PRN status employees and are subject to first call-off. There are no guaranteed hours by the hospital.

Seasonal Staff will not be eligible for extra shift bonuses (D1/CND or D2/ECD)

Registered Nurses who are in the Seasonal program will have one opportunity to pass the clinical competency evaluation.

Current FT/PT & PRN employees are not eligible to join the Seasonal program for 2026--27

Current employees of HWS are not eligible for the seasonal program.

Shifts may vary based on the needs of the department.
