Associate Attorney

Job Description NextStep Recruiting has partnered with a legal services organization to identify an Associate Attorney in St. Louis, MO. This role will begin onsite with the opportunity to transition to a hybrid schedule after 1–6 months and will support a creditor-focused legal practice with regular courtroom exposure. This position is ideal for an attorney with 1+ years of experience who wants hands‑on litigation experience without billable hour requirements. Candidates from any practice area are welcome, and training will be provided. Required: Juris Doctor (JD) and active Missouri Bar license 1+ year of experience practicing as an attorney Comfortable with regular court appearances and handling litigation matters Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to independently manage deadlines, cases, and competing priorities Preferred: Dual licensure in Missouri and Kansas 1–2 years of collections, creditors’ rights, or related litigation experience Experience drafting or reviewing pleadings, motions, and discovery Prior courtroom, trial, arbitration, or contested‑matter experience Interest in developing a long‑term litigation career within a supportive legal team Compensation ranges from $85K–$120K plus a discretionary bonus, along with comprehensive benefits, retirement options, profit sharing, and opportunities for advancement.
