Intelligence Analyst (Threat Finance & Data Exploitation)

Job Description

BAE Systems is seeking an exploiter with data analytics skills to support a clients operational requirements in a challenging, dynamic setting located in the Washington Metropolitan Area. While a baseline understanding of global finance and digital assets is favored, candidates should be able to apply a rigorous data analytics lens to the mission. The primary focus will be on the ability to exploit large-scale databases and complex datasets to identify patterns and fuse multi-INT data. Successful candidates will work well in a team environment and will be capable of operating independently with minimal supervision. Candidates will be expected to effectively interact with customer personnel at all levels within the customer organization. A core requirement of the role is the ability to interpret and analyze financial data, combined with a strong understanding of the Intelligence Communitys mission, structure, and objectives.

Job Description: The selected candidate will conduct advanced intelligence research and all-source analysis to produce high-impact briefings and assessments on threat financiers, facilitators, and the financial networks of nation-state adversaries. This role focuses on the intersection of technical data exploitation and intelligence analysis, mapping the flow of funds across formal banking systems, informal value transfer systems, and emerging digital assets. The ideal candidate will not only analyze the data but will develop the technical workflows necessary to extract and fuse transactional data from disparate sources to support tactical operations and strategic policymakers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Data Exploitation & Fusion: Extract, fuse, and analyze large-scale transactional data from multi-INT sources to identify patterns of financial activity associated with adversarial networks.
• Network Mapping: Map complex financial operations, including the use of formal financial institutions and informal systems for moving money.
• Technical Workflow Automation: Utilize data manipulation tools and programming capabilities (where applicable) to automate the collection and analysis of financial data, reducing manual workflows and increasing the speed of target discovery.
• Intelligence Production: Draft and deliver executive-level intelligence products and briefings on threat finance, focusing on the nexus between financial facilitators and state-sponsored activity.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a technical bridge between operational analysts and software development teams to translate intelligence requirements into functional data tools.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

• Education: BA/BS degree in a relevant field (e.g., International Relations, Data Science, Economics, Finance, or Intelligence Studies).
• Data Analysis: Proven experience exploiting large-scale databases or complex datasets to conduct analysis. Proficiency in SQL and advanced data manipulation tools is essential.
• Communication: Exceptional ability to translate complex technical findings into actionable intelligence for senior leadership and stakeholders.
• Interpersonal Skills: Proven track record of collaborating effectively within joint working groups or interagency environments.
• Autonomy: Self-motivated professional capable of managing high-priority tasks in fast-paced, operational environments with minimal oversight.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

• Domain Knowledge: A baseline understanding of global finance mechanisms, including threat finance, international money transfer systems, and the role of financial institutions in state-sponsored activity.
• Digital Assets: Familiarity with digital currencies, cryptocurrency intelligence, and emerging financial technologies.
• Technical Prioritization: Demonstrated experience using Python (or a similar language) for data manipulation, API integration, and automation is highly desired and will be prioritized.
• Intelligence Background: Experience working within the Intelligence Community (IC) or supporting tactical cyber/intelligence operations.

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $149603 - $254317

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
