Quick Facts:

• Location: Portsmouth, VA
• Start Date: 06/29/2026
• End Date: 09/30/2030
• Shift: Fridays only, with additional operational hours at various clinics (0700 - 1900 Mon-Sun, 0700 - 1600 Mon-Fri, 0700 - 1530 Mon-Fri)
• Hours/week: Approximately 8 hours/day, part-time role
• Employment Type: Contract/Per Diem
• Licensing/Certifications: MD or DO from an accredited medical school; current, unrestricted medical license; DEA, BLS certifications
• Experience: Minimum 1 year in family practice within the last two years

What You’ll Do:

• Provide comprehensive family medicine services, including diagnosis, treatment, and prevention
• Conduct patient assessments and develop care plans
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Document clinical encounters accurately and securely
• Participate in ongoing training and performance improvement activities
• Support clinic operations and coverage needs, primarily on Fridays but with flexibility as needed
• Engage with military and veteran populations in a meaningful way

What You Need:

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) from an accredited medical school
• Current, unrestricted medical license in Virginia
• At least 1 year of recent family practice experience
• Board certification in Family Practice (American Board)
• Valid DEA and BLS certifications
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
• Ability to work flexible hours, including some weekends
