About the Position

Job Title: Cytotechnologist Profession: Laboratory Specialty: Cytotechnology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum of 1 year required. License: Must have a valid state license or compact state license. Certifications: ASCP-CT preferred. Must-Have: - Epic charting system experience required. - Candidates may float within scope if needed. - Applicable experience in cytology procedures and specimen evaluation. Description: The role requires a qualified Cytotechnologist to perform cytological evaluations. The candidate will assist in the collection and processing of specimens. Responsibilities include preparing and examining cytological smears. Quality control and assurance practices must be adhered to. Candidates should have experience in handling various specimen types, including PAP tests. Strong attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols are essential. Ability to make preliminary diagnoses based on cytological findings is expected. Experience with Hologic ThinPrep systems is beneficial. Candidates must be able to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams. Additional procedures and equipment may be utilized as needed.
