This role exists to support growing machining demand at the Westfield facility, with a strong focus on 4-axis CNC milling, Mastercam programming, setup, and precision manufacturing work. This is a high-impact position for a machinist who enjoys owning the entire machining process — from print review and programming through setup, prove-out, and finished part production.

The Work You’ll Be Doing

In this role, you will:

• Program, set up, and operate 4-axis Haas CNC milling machines
• Build and modify CNC programs using Mastercam
• Set up and operate manual lathes and mills, including Bridgeport and PROTO TRAK equipment
• Operate Doosan multi-axis CNC machines in addition to Haas equipment
• Perform complete machine setups including tooling, fixturing, offsets, and prove-outs
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T requirements
• Machine precision components while maintaining close tolerances and quality standards
• Edit programs and optimize machining strategies to improve efficiency and reduce cycle times
• Select tooling, inserts, holders, and workholding solutions for each project
• Perform first-article and in-process inspections using precision measuring equipment
• Troubleshoot machining and programming issues to minimize downtime
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work environment
• Collaborate with machinists, supervisors, and engineering personnel as needed
• Travel occasionally to customer sites as needed

What We’re Looking ForRequired

• 5–7+ years of machining experience, both CNC and manual
• Experience with manual machining equipment (Bridgeport, PROTO TRAK) in addition to CNC
• Strong 4-axis CNC milling experience
• Hands-on experience with Haas CNC mills
• Strong Mastercam programming ability
• Ability to independently complete setups and prove-outs
• Experience machining to tight tolerances
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret GD&T
• Strong understanding of feeds, speeds, tooling, and machining strategy
• Experience using precision measuring equipment
• Strong math, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills

Preferred (Not Required)

• Experience machining industrial valve or repair components
• Experience with Doosan CNC equipment
• Familiarity with Haas post-processors
• Continuous improvement mindset focused on efficiency and scrap reduction
• Trade school or machining certification
