This is the setting for Keswick Hall, an impressive 80-room luxury boutique hotel nestled on 600 acres which recently re-opened in 2021 after renovations. Home to the prestigious Keswick Golf Club, Marigold Restaurant, by Jean-Georges, a new luxury spa and sports and aquatics center.

In-Room Dining Server’s responsibility is to offer prompt, correct, precise and friendly service while accommodating guests’ specific requests and ensuring timeliness of service. 

  ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 

1. Provides exceptional knowledge of food & beverage menu items as well as information regarding preparation methods.
2. Communicates guest orders including any special needs or requests using the hotel’s point-of-sales system and checks completed orders with the guest’s original order; transport items to the guest in a timely manner.
3. Anticipates guest needs, ascertain satisfaction, and offer suggestions, and respond urgently and appropriately to guest concerns and requests.
4. Properly and accurately close guest checks; process cash and credit card payments; properly settle voided checks or complimentary items.
5. Deliver food orders including any special needs or requests to the guest in-room, check completed kitchen orders with the order taker or guest’s original order; transport items to the guestroom in a timely manner to ensure proper food quality.  
6. Greet guests, describe selected items to the guest using interesting, and vivid descriptions of each item’s, origin, taste, and preparation methods; communicate options for removal of trays and dishware; respond to request for tray removal according to established time standards.
7. Breakdown, clean and set-up of room service tables, condiment set-ups, flatware, dishware, and room service side stations. 
8. Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors. 
9. Perform other duties as assigned.

  QUALIFICATIONS

The qualifications listed below are representative of the minimum knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  KNOWLEDGE

Strong knowledge of food & beverage.

  SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Strong ability to multi-task and observe entire dining room.

Strong time management skills.

Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Fluent English (written, spoken and reading). 

Strong commitment to service. 

Strong interpersonal and team player skills.

Must possess the ability to organize and prioritize.

  Ability to work a variety of shifts as will involve days, evenings, weekends and holidays.

  SUPERVISION

Position functions with supervision 

  EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE

Minimum of a high school diploma (or equivalent) and 0-2 years of food service experience.  However, a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration.   

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to go up and down staircase as well as stoop and bend.

Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.

Requires the ability to push up to 30lbs. 

  UNIFORM REQUIREMENT

  Non-Slip Shoes. 

Uniform will be provided. 

Employees are responsible for maintaining a clean/crisp looking uniform.
