Certified Surgical Specialist, CST (Full Time-Days) - Surgery CVOR Location: 8200 Walnut Hill Lane, Dallas, TX 75231. Work Hours: Full time – 40 hours/week; Monday-Friday 0630-1500 on call required. Surgery Department Highlights Texas Health Dallas has 24 Main OR Suites, 2 Endovascular rooms, 3 Robot rooms, 2 Heart rooms. Fast Paced, High Volume of Open Vascular, Endo Vascular, and Hearts. Level I Trauma facility. Strong Minimally Invasive CV program. Here’s What You Need H.S. Diploma or Equivalent. Must have practiced surgical technology in a health care facility before September 1 2009. Graduate of an accredited surgery technology program, vocational nurse program, or completion of a military training program in surgical technology. 2 Years recent experience in a surgical service specialty (robotics, cardiovascular/hearts, orthopedics, neurology) with at least 150 cases performed. CST – Certified Surgical Technologist graduate of an accredited surgical tech program (required). Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) (required). Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly (required). What You Will Do Preoperatively assist the R.N. circulator in formulating the plan of care. Prepare and organize the operating room. Assist in providing peri‑operative care for a patient population that includes infants, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics. Assist as needed in coordinating patient care peri‑operatively. Assume responsibility and accountability for behavior to maintain professional nursing standards. Post‑operatively follow proper procedures for care of instruments, supplies, and equipment. Under supervision, assist RN circulator with post‑operative duties.
