Associate Attorney for MD & VA

Role Description The Associate Attorney for MD & VA is a full-time remote role responsible for handling variety of legal areas, with a primary focus on Maryland and Virginia jurisdictions in support of legal services department. Day-to-day responsibilities include telephone consultation, conducting document review and legal research; providing legal options; and meeting compliance deadlines. The role requires exceptional customer service and soft skills.

Qualifications

Compassionate and engaged approach to legal consultations.
Strong foundation in law, with the ability to analyze situations, case law, and regulations and apply them to client matters.
Experience in direct client interaction and communication.
Ability to provide clear, practical legal advice to clients, translating complex legal concepts into actionable guidance.
Proficient Research skills, including use of legal research platforms and effective fact-gathering.
Effective negotiation skills for resolving disputes, drafting demand letters, and advocating for clients’ interests.
Active license to practice law in Maryland OR Virginia, in good standing.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail and organization.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating with a distributed legal team.
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school; prior experience preferred.
Compassionate approach to all areas of law and client needs.
