Custodian

CustodianThe Custodian will support the efficient operation of all spaces at 80 Pitt with an eye for detail and a strong sense of ownership. The Custodian is responsible for daily maintenance and upkeep of all bathrooms, common spaces and classrooms at 80 Pitt Street. This includes garbage removal, floor care, and general cleaning. In addition, the Custodian supports the programs with event set up and room set up as directed by the Facilities Manager or OAC Manager, as needed.Maintain the safety and appearance of the building to the highest standard, including:Dusting and cleaning all surface areas, fixtures, and furnitureVacuuming, sweeping, and mopping flooringRestocking, cleaning and sanitizing restroomsTrash collection and removalAddressing spills and trip hazardsClearing debris from exterior walkways and roof areasOrganize and restock cleaning supplies.Execute room and event set up, including tables, chairs, food prep stations, etc.Responds to building-related emergencies as directed by the Facilities Manager.Maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders, program participants, families, community members and program staff.Provide above duties at 175 Delancey Street, when requestedOther duties and projects as assigned.Candidates must be able to sit or stand for long periods, climb stairs, lift or move up 50 lbs.
