Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse (RN) Specialty: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2+ years of Intensive Care Unit (ICU) experience License: Active Illinois Nursing License Certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA) Must-Have: - Age-specific assessment skills - Ability to perform ongoing assessments - Participation in multidisciplinary care planning - Experience in patient teaching and discharge planning Description: Registered Nurses in the Intensive Care Unit are responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating individualized patient care delivery. They assess the patient's physical and psychosocial status in a comprehensive manner utilizing age-specific data. They demonstrate accurate assessment skills appropriate to the age of the patient. Ongoing assessments and required documentation are performed according to organizational standards. They perform and document observations, physical examinations, laboratory/test results, and patient responses to procedural interventions. Active participation in identifying and clarifying patient needs is essential, as evidenced by involvement in multidisciplinary care planning to achieve optimal patient outcomes. Assistance to other staff in delivering patient care is provided as appropriate. Patient teaching and discharge planning are incorporated to promote optimal patient outcomes.
