This is an excellent opportunity for talented nurses seeking a short-term assignment starting October 19, 2026, with a 12-hour day shift schedule.Quick FactsLocation: Shreveport, LAStart Date: 10/19/2026End Date: 01/16/2027Shift: 12H DaysHours per Week: 36-40Employment Type: Travel/ContractRequired Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSSExperience: 1+ year in acute care (First-time travelers require 2+ years of perm staff RN experience)Pay & BenefitsHourly Pay Rate: $48.24Benefits: Competitive pay packagesWeekly pay schedule via direct depositComprehensive medical benefits (W-2)Robust referral bonus programPaid sick time in accordance with applicable lawsLicensure, certification, travel, and other reimbursements when applicableWhat You'll DoProvide high-quality nursing care for patients in the Med-Surg and Telemetry units, including transplant and general medical patients.Manage patient conditions such as CHF, COPD, altered mental status, DKA, and more.Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, including reading cardiac strips (ACLS required).Administer medications and support chest tube, dialysis, and wound care as directed.Assist with IV placements, blood draws, and support on various units within scope of practice.Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including RT, PT, OT, and hospitalist consultants.Adhere to patient safety and documentation protocols using EMR system (Meditech Expanse).What You NeedValid RN license in Louisiana or the ability to transfer licensure.Minimum 1 year of acute care experience, 2 years if first-time traveler.Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS.Ability to pass an EKG competency exam.Strong cardiac rhythm interpretation skills and ability to support complex patient needs.Effective communication and teamwork skills.About the AssignmentThis Med/Surg RN role at a reputable hospital in Shreveport involves caring for transplant, telemetry, and general medicine patients. The unit features a patient ratio of 1:5 for RNs, with support from charge nurses, resource nurses, and a dedicated RT team. You will work a 12-hour day shift, every other weekend, and participate in holiday coverage.
