Job Summary

Bill Rapp Subaru is looking for a motivated Entry-Level Express Technician to join our service team in Syracuse, NY. This role is ideal for individuals looking to start or grow a career in automotive service. The Express Technician performs light maintenance and basic repair services while ensuring high-quality workmanship and excellent customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform work outlined on repair orders efficiently and accurately in accordance with dealership and manufacturer standards
• Perform routine maintenance including oil and filter changes, tire rotations, balancing, and cooling system flushes
• Inspect vehicle fluid levels and replenish as necessary
• Check and adjust tire pressure
• Perform safety inspections and recommend additional maintenance or services when needed
• Communicate with the parts department to obtain required parts
• Notify the service advisor if additional work is needed or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time
• Document all work performed and recommended on repair orders
• Road test vehicles when required
• Participate in manufacturer-sponsored training programs and stay current with technical bulletins
• Maintain a clean and organized shop area
• Handle and store dealership tools and equipment properly
• Follow all federal, state, and local regulations including safety and hazardous waste procedures
• Report equipment malfunctions or safety issues to management immediately
• Ensure customer vehicles remain clean and notify advisors if any issues arise
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Valid driver's license
• Clean driving record for the past three years
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail
• Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
• Basic mechanical knowledge or automotive interest preferred
