Seasonal Grounds Assistant

Title: Grounds Assistant Department: Gameday Operations FLSA Status: Non-exempt/Seasonal Part time March-September Reports To: Director, Grounds Summary:
Grounds assistants help with preparation and maintenance of the playing field for Omaha Storm Chasers events.
Responsibilities:

Grounds assistants help with preparation and maintenance of the playing field for Omaha Storm Chasers events.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with the maintenance and repair of the playing field including, but is not limited to turf (mowing, edging, fertilizing, aerating, top-dressing, over-seeding, discovery/control of weeds, insects, and diseases) and dirt (infield skin, baselines, home plate, pitcher's mound, bullpens, warning track)
- Assist with the preparation of the playing field for pre-game batting practice by setting up cage, screens, mats, and protective field covers
- Assist with preparation of the playing field for game use by grooming field, chalking base path foul lines, painting outfield foul lines, marking coaching boxes
- Assist with maintaining all turf and landscaped areas in and outside the stadium grounds
- Assist with tarp pulls as directed
- Prior turf maintenance or grounds keeping experience preferred
- Must be willing to submit to a background screen; any offer of employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a background screen
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; work with a sense of urgency
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Ability and willingness to work at least 50% of events at Werner Park, including nights, weekends and holidays
- Ability to work outside in all weather conditions including; cold, wind, rain and heat
