PowerBi Developer

Responsibilities:

* Power BI Development: Design, develop, and deploy interactive and visually compelling dashboards and reports using Microsoft Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service.

* Data Modeling: Design and implement robust and efficient data models within Power BI, optimizing for performance and usability. This includes creating relationships, measures (DAX), and calculated columns.

* Data Connectivity and ETL: Connect to various data sources (databases, APIs, flat files, cloud services), and perform data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) using Power Query (M language) within Power BI.

* DAX Development: Write complex and optimized DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) queries to create calculated measures, calculated columns, and perform advanced analytical calculations.

* Visual Analytics: Apply best practices in data visualization to create clear, concise, and insightful reports and dashboards that effectively communicate key business metrics and trends.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field.

* Minimum of 7 years of professional experience as a Power BI Developer or a similar Business Intelligence role with a strong focus on Power BI.

* Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service.

* Deep understanding of data modeling concepts and techniques within Power BI.

* Strong expertise in writing complex and optimized DAX queries.

* Proven experience in data connectivity and ETL processes using Power Query (M language).

* Solid understanding of database concepts and SQL.

* Strong skills in data visualization principles and best practices.

* Experience in connecting to and working with various data sources (e.g., SQL Server, Azure SQL Database, APIs).

* Experience with Power BI administration, security, and governance.

* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Microsoft Power BI certifications (e.g., Analyzing Data with Microsoft Power BI).

* Experience with other BI and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Qlik).

* Familiarity with Azure data services (e.g., Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, Azure Analysis Services).

* Experience with scripting languages like Python or PowerShell for data manipulation or automation.

* Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and dimensional modeling.

* Experience with implementing row-level security and other security measures in Power BI.

* Experience with performance monitoring and optimization of Power BI environments.
