Job Description

A dedicated Registered Nurse is needed for a Med/Surg unit, with a focus on providing exceptional patient care. The RN will be responsible for managing a patient load typically ranging from 5 to 6 patients, with the possibility of up to 7 at peak times. This role requires the ability to read and interpret cardiac strips and work collaboratively with CNA support and charge nurses on each shift.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with a variety of medical conditions, including CHF, pneumonia, COPD, and oncology.
• Monitor vital signs and report any significant changes in patient conditions.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Collaborate effectively with the healthcare team, including charge nurses and nursing aides.
• Participate in patient education and discharge planning.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current, unexpired RN license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to float to critical care settings as needed, with assignment to Med/Surg or stepdown patients.
• No false nails permitted while on duty.
