Job Title: Occupational Therapist IPR - St. John Hospital


Location: Onsite (Detroit, MI)


Shift Hours


• 7am-5:30pm


Schedule Notes


• This engagement is for 8- weeks with possible extension and/or covert FTE


• Candidate must have experience with in-patient rehab


• Must have BLS


• Please specify on resume which schedule you are interested in, as there are two positions available.


• Schedule: 7am-530pm


• 1- position: 4- 10-hour shifts: Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, & Saturday


• 1- position: 4- 10-hour shifts: Sunday - Wednesday


• OT is billable after 48-hour work week


• Date Start: 05/25/2026


• Date End: 07/25/2026


GENERAL SUMMARY:


• Evaluates and treats patients with physical, emotional, cognitive and/or psychosocial deficits.


PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


• Assesses patient 's ability to safely and effectively perform independent living skills.


• Designs the appropriate plan of care, including type and frequency of treatment.


• Implements the treatment plan using appropriate modalities.


• Documents findings of patient progress.


• Monitors and modifies the plan of care as needed.


• Seeks consultation as necessary.


• Educates the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits.


• Plans and/or assists with patient discharge from therapy services and provides information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and support programs.


• Oversees the care provided by certified occupational therapy assistants and therapy technicians according to established regulations and practice standards.


Education/Experience Required:


• Bachelor's degree required.


Education/Experience Preferred:


• Master's degree preferred.


• Acute Care Experience preferred; however, willing to train the right new graduate candidate.


Certification/Licenses Required:


• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.


• American Heart Association


• Rehab Therapist specializing in Occupational Therapy (OTR) credentialed from the Michigan Board of Occupational Therapists obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
