Staff Accountant I

Position Summary

Reporting to the Controller, this position will play an integral role in the organization by improving accounting policies and procedures to ensure timely and efficient financial reporting.

Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities

• High level of proficiency in using Windows Excel, Word and Outlook
• Exposure to month ends close process; to include preparation of month end General Ledger entries as assigned, account reconciliations, variance analysis and reporting
• Evaluates subsidiary journals for obvious errors and omissions and identifies data that needs to be corrected.
• Performs tasks associated with the general ledger, i.e., enters monthly journal entries
• Reconciliation of multiple bank accounts
• Working knowledge of the following areas: accounting for fixed assets, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, inventory valuation & control, and treasury functions
• Customer invoicing
• Reconciles credit card bill to expense reports
• Assists with maintaining freight invoicing and tracking freight rates

Education and Experience

• Must possess a 4-year accounting degree or equivalent along with 0 to 4 years in a manufacturing environment.
