Research Technician Bygrave Lab

Overview The Department of Neuroscience is a basic science department that focuses on cutting‑edge research in the areas of synapse development and function, sensory systems, complex behavior, cognitive neuroscience, and behavioral neurobiology. The Bygrave lab is supported by funding from the federal government, charitable foundations, as well as university funds. The faculty within the department is also extensively involved with the Graduate School of Biomedical Science Program in Neuroscience as well as teaching within the medical school. What You’ll Do Under close supervision of the Principal Investigator, the candidate will join a supportive team to conduct a variety of experiments to evaluate mechanisms of neuronal circuit function and behaviors relevant to psychiatric disease. There are four primary duties for this position: Support the running of the lab through ordering reagents and supplies Use of AAV vectors and immunohistochemistry to evaluate expression profiles Behavioral testing in mice Use of image analysis pipelines for data analysis Applicants with experience in biochemistry, molecular biology, working with mice, or coding proficiency to build or utilize analysis pipelines are especially encouraged. More information about the Bygrave lab can be found at What We’re Looking For Basic Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in science Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with basic laboratory techniques and procedures (especially using mouse models, immunohistochemistry, confocal imaging, stereotaxic surgery) Experience with computational analyses Pay Range Minimum $20.50, Midpoint $24.40, Maximum $28.30.
