We are looking for a highly motivated candidate with excellent analytical and communication skills and a passion for aviation to help deliver and grow our portfolio of aviation planning projects at the nation’s largest and most exciting airports. The successful candidate will have expertise in one or more of the following aviation planning disciplines: landside, terminal, airside, economics, or environmental. This opportunity entails being responsible for applying planning strategies utilizing various technologies and tools to gather and analyze data, assess outcomes, and develop reporting and visuals to effectively communicate findings. The role performs tasks for planning projects including research, studies, and documentation, coordinating with multi-discipline team members from concept development through project completion. It may serve as a Project Manager on a limited basis for selected medium and large-scale projects, coordinating with project manager, project designer, and other disciplines on multiple large and complex transportation planning, urban design, or landscape architectural projects to ensure that the client’s technical requirements are fully met. What You’ll Do Under minimal direction, perform a variety of highly complex professional planning, environmental planning, landscape architecture, and urban design project responsibilities, and lead technical tasks. Write and/or review major sections of plans, studies, reports, and environmental documents, coordinating and synthesizing the contributions of others. Lead preparation and review of graphics, technical reports, work plans, scopes of work, fee proposals, and responses to Request for Proposals, and prepare and review budgets, invoicing, and billing. Lead public and stakeholder engagement and present information to the community. Provide guidance and mentor staff. Lead coordination with clients, sub‑consultants, and in‑house personnel on a regular basis to complete assigned tasks. Recommend process and system improvements that result in greater efficiencies, enhanced capacities, and improved service delivery. Support department managers and office leadership with strategic planning, staffing/training, and other special projects. May serve as project manager or task lead. Perform other duties as assigned. What You’ll Need Bachelor’s Degree in Landscape Architecture, Planning, Environmental Planning, Urban Design, Architecture, Engineering, Urban Planning, Geography, or a related field and 10 years of relevant experience. Master’s Degree in Landscape Architecture, Planning, Environmental Planning, Urban Design, Architecture, Engineering, Urban Planning, Geography, or a related field and 9 years of relevant experience. What You’ll Bring Direct and oversee technical work for a wide variety of multidisciplinary airport planning and preliminary design projects. Lead capacity analyses for airport facilities. Develop concepts and alternative drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, and ArcGIS. Prepare technical reports for airport planning studies. Interpret and oversee airport simulation models. Be highly responsive to client requests. Prepare stakeholder and public presentations. Help build client relationships. Assist with business development activities, including proposal preparation and interviews. Mentor junior and mid‑level staff. Be an expert in one or more key aviation planning disciplines (e.g., landside, terminal, airside, land use, airspace). What We Prefer Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Aviation Management, Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field and 10 years of experience. Extensive airport planning experience at large hub airports. Project Management experience with a focus on profitability. Strong understanding of the aviation industry. Excellent written, verbal, and graphical communication skills. Commitment to delivering extraordinary client service. Experience serving multiple clients simultaneously across several time zones. The approximate pay range for this position varies by location, ranging from $126,950.84 to $248,205.18. Actual compensation will depend on qualifications, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as the physical work location within the state.
