Registered Nurse - IMC/PCU/Stepdown

Job Description

Job Summary:
The PCU RN is responsible for providing specialized nursing care to patients in the Progressive Care Unit during night shifts. This role requires clinical expertise, adherence to hospital protocols, and the ability to adapt to floating within the facility as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct patient care, monitoring vital signs, and assessing patient conditions.
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and facility protocols.
• Document patient information accurately using Cerner or preferred charting systems.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Comply with travel and background screening requirements, including fingerprinting and drug testing.
• Float within the hospital as necessary, providing consistent quality care across departments.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid PA or Compact nursing license.
• Possess at least 1 year of recent clinical experience in a similar setting.
• Demonstrate proficiency with charting systems, preferably Cerner.
• Ensure compliance with required certifications, including AHA BLS and any unit-specific credentials.
• Be able to pass background checks, drug screening, and fingerprinting within specified timeframes.
• Have excellent communication skills and adaptability for floating assignments.
