Clinical Laboratory Scientist (Generalist CLS)

Location: Thousand Oaks, CA

Schedule: Full-Time | On-Site

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) to join a collaborative healthcare team in Thousand Oaks. This role is ideal for a laboratory professional who enjoys working across multiple disciplines and is committed to delivering accurate, timely results that support exceptional patient care.

What You'll Do

• Perform moderate- and high-complexity testing in accordance with laboratory standards and procedures.
• Analyze, verify, and report laboratory test results accurately and efficiently.
• Perform testing across multiple laboratory departments, including chemistry, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, and microbiology as appropriate.
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation.
• Monitor quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Review specimens for acceptability and ensure proper handling and processing.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation within the laboratory information system.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support timely patient diagnosis and treatment.
• Adhere to all laboratory safety, infection control, and regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Current California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (Generalist CLS) License required.
• Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Biology, Chemistry, or a related scientific field.
• Ability to perform testing across multiple laboratory disciplines.
• Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures, quality control practices, and regulatory standards.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and critical-thinking skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in an acute care hospital laboratory.
• Experience with chemistry, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, microbiology, and blood banking.
• Familiarity with laboratory information systems (LIS) and electronic medical records.
• ASCP certification preferred.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Job Type & Location

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $42.00 - $60.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
