Description

American Traveler is hiring an MRI Technologist for a weekend-heavy, 12-hour shift contract at an acute care hospital in Charleston, SC, requiring ARRT certification and Cerner experience.

Details

• Radiology MRI department within an acute care hospital setting
• Schedule: Saturday through Monday, three 12-hour shifts per week — Saturday and Sunday 7:30 AM–8:00 PM, Monday 8:00 AM–8:30 PM
• 36 hours per week
• May be required to float to a nearby sister hospital
• Charting via Cerner EMR
• May be required to take call and/or work holidays based on department needs

Requirements

• ARRT registration required
• Active SC or compact state license required, if applicable
• Current AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers certification required
• Graduate of an accredited Allied Health Professionals program
• Cross-sectional anatomy or MRI experience preferred
• Experience with Cerner EMR
• Must be able to frequently stand, walk, lift/move patients, and push or pull up to 50 lbs
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• 2 professional references required for consideration

Additional Information

• Perform MRI procedures under the medical supervision of certified radiologists following established protocols
• Responsible for patient care and safety during imaging procedures, including age-appropriate care and obtaining correct written orders
• Supervise and assist in the clinical education of student MRI technologists
• Ensure correct orders, diagnoses, and clinical history are entered into the computer system, and communicate findings with the radiologist
• Instruct and prepare patients regarding MRI procedures, assist with informed consent, and communicate discharge instructions to family members as needed
• Responsible for safe operation of MRI and post-processing equipment with emphasis on minimizing repeat exams and cost-conscious use of supplies
• Adheres to ALARA radiation safety principles and applicable OSHA, DHEC, FDA, and TJC standards
• Travelers who have been on assignment for one calendar year must take a 30–60 day break before returning to a new assignment
