Job Summary: We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Substance Use and Mental Health Counselor to provide support, guidance, and therapeutic services to individuals struggling with substance use disorders and mental health issues. Key Responsibilities: Assessment: Conduct thorough assessments of clients’ substance use, mental health status, and psychosocial needs. Treatment Planning: Create and implement individualized treatment plans that address clients' specific needs and goals. Counseling: Provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions to support clients in their recovery journey. Crisis Intervention: Offer immediate support and intervention in crises to ensure the safety and well-being of clients. Education: Educate clients and their families about substance use disorders, mental health conditions, coping strategies, and available resources. Case Management: Coordinate care with other healthcare providers, social services, and community resources to ensure comprehensive support. Documentation: Maintain accurate and confidential records of client interactions, treatment progress, and outcomes. Advocacy: Advocate for clients’ needs and rights, including assistance with accessing community resources, support networks, and services. Compliance: Ensure adherence to ethical guidelines, confidentiality standards, and regulatory requirements. Required Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree or Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field. Licensure/Certification: Valid state licensure or certification (e.g., LPC, LCSW, LMFT, CADC) or eligibility for licensure. Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in substance use and mental health counseling, preferably in a clinical or outpatient setting. Skills: Strong clinical skills, excellent communication, and interpersonal abilities, proficiency in crisis intervention, and knowledge of evidence-based treatment modalities.
