Registered Nurse - Psychiatric

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide specialized psychiatric care to patients in a mental health unit, ensuring safety and comfort while administering treatments and supporting recovery. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient-centered services.

Responsibilities:

• Administer psychiatric treatments and monitor patient responses within a fast-paced mental health environment.
• Conduct patient assessments, document progress, and update care plans in the Meditech Expanse system.
• Collaborate with team members including social workers and recreational therapists to develop comprehensive discharge plans.
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols, including use of mechanical lifts and Sara Steady equipment.
• Maintain compliance with unit policies, procedures, and certifications, including BLS.
• Support float and occasional helper roles, assisting staff during 12-hour shifts.

Qualifications:

• Active RN license with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
• Preferred psychiatric background and geriatrics experience.
• Strong knowledge of behavioral health procedures and patient safety practices.
• BLS certification required.
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts, rotating weekends, and remain flexible with floating roles.
• Excellent communication skills and team-oriented attitude.
