ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE SPECIALIST

Accounts Receivable Specialist (Administrative Services Officer II)The Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) is looking for a financial professional to fill the Administrative Services Officer position. This position completes a range of functions for the Inmate Trust Accounts (ITA) unit. Reconciles ITA accounts, inmate deposits, processes inmate payroll, reconciles inmate accounts, payable functions, accounts receivable, dated checks, and abandoned funds.Job Duties:Processes inmate receivablesResearches and reconciles daily and monthly depositsResearches and resolves problems and/or questions related to inmate depositsVerifies and corrects posting errorsProcesses inmate Work Incentive Pay Plan, Arizona Correctional Industries, and Inmate Trust Accounts (ITA) payroll transactionsResearches and reconciles inmates' bi-weekly payrollResearches and resolves problems and/or questions related to inmate payroll, including payroll discrepancies and/or vendor reimbursements for inmate workProcesses inmate paymentsResearches and reconciles inmate accounts payableResearches and resolves problems and/or questions related to inmate payments, including inmate-initiated payments, payments for services, and deductions for debt and/or obligationsAssists with the Inmate Trust Accounts processResearches and reconciles state-dated checksTakes appropriate actions by returning funds to the inmate or transferring the monies to the abandoned funds accountPrepares documents and forms to be able to transfer abandoned funds to ADOR unclaimed propertyDrives on State businessPerforms other duties appropriate to the assignmentKnowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs): Knowledge of:Federal and state laws, statutes, and regulations pertinent to the area of the assignmentGovernmental and/or office accounting practices and proceduresVarious spreadsheet and word processing software to produce reports and respond to requests for informationReconciliation of bank accounts, fiscal reports, and form preparationIdentifying and resolving discrepanciesFinancial research methodologiesSkill in:Work management and leadershipAnalysis and interpretation of financial dataWork techniques required in maintaining accounting records through an automated accounting systemVerbal and written communicationsEstablishing and maintaining positive interpersonal relationshipsResearch methodologyAbility to:Utilize various office productivity software such as Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and GoogleWrite correspondenceCreate reportsCompile statisticsSelective Preference(s): Three (3) years of Arizona State governmental fixed assets management experienceBachelor's Degree in accounting, finance or related field (Not required)Pre-Employment Requirements: Employment is contingent on the selected applicant passing a background investigation.
