X-LAB System Administrator (Secret Clearance)

Overview Our team, the Command and Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC) Experimentation Lab (X‑LAB), is engineering, developing and integrating new capability for the Missile Defense System that protects the United States and its allies. The team consists of many small agile teams that work together in a fast‑paced and dynamic environment. Our responsibilities include sensor/weapon integration, algorithm development, user interface development, automated testing, cyber security, and enhancing other critical, leading‑edge missile defense technologies. Responsibilities This System Administrator role will act as the first line of defense for user‑level interactions and issues. The position supports users in person, on secure phone, email or instant message, and requires a customer‑facing, refined customer service skill set. Day‑to‑day duties include diagnosing and troubleshooting issues with remote users, supporting MDA flight tests, focusing on the integration of R&D systems into C2BMC, and contributing to other X‑Lab projects as needed. Basic Qualifications Active Final SECRET clearance required prior to starting. DoD 8140 IAT Level II compliant certificate such as CompTIA Security+ CE or other certs such as CISSP or CASP; if not obtained at start, must be earned within 90 days. Experience with system administration in both Windows Server and Linux operating systems. Experience supporting users in an enterprise‑level system, demonstrating ability to handle complex technical issues and provide effective solutions. Prior experience with a hyper‑converged on‑prem cloud platform such as Nutanix or VMware. Desired Skills Experience with a help desk ticketing system, such as Atlassian JIRA, for recording work details and tracking information. Ability to develop documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOP), using enterprise tools such as Atlassian Confluence. Familiarity with a scripting language, such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python, and automation tools such as Ansible. Coding experience in an object‑oriented language such as Java or Python is a plus. Security Clearance This position requires a government security clearance at the Secret level and you must be a U.S. citizen for consideration. Location & Travel Position located at Schriever, Space Force Base, 10 miles east of Colorado Springs, CO. 100% onsite. May involve around 10% travel to customer sites across the United States and occasional off‑hours support during test events. Compensation & Benefits Annual base salary range for selected states: $81,600 - $143,865.
