Details Acute care teaching hospital setting with Level III trauma designation PACU, Pre-Op, and Phase 2 recovery care across the main hospital and an affiliated Day Surgery Center 1:1 patient ratios 3x12-hour day shifts with start times varying between 0530 and 1100 Weekend shifts as needed based on unit demands No on-call requirements Floating required between the main hospital and Day Surgery Center locations Uses Epic (Excellian) for charting Requirements Active or pending MN RN license accepted BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification required; NIHSS also required 1-2 years of recent PACU/specialty experience required Previous travel nursing experience required Epic/Excellian charting experience required Skilled in airway assessment, ventilator care, ABG interpretation, and intubation/extubation Experience with cardiovascular monitoring including arterial lines, CVP, and pacemaker care Competency in pre/post-operative patient care including EKG, consent, and medication reconciliation Experience with IV therapy, central line care, and blood product administration One supervisor reference required for consideration Fingerprinting via LiveScan required per Minnesota state law Additional Information Provide comprehensive perioperative nursing care across PACU, Pre-Op, and Phase 2 recovery units Manage complex surgical patients including neuro, cardiac, ortho, vascular, and plastics cases Support pediatric and adult PACU populations as needed Scrubs provided by the unit Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be considered, with no local candidates accepted Candidates must be gone at least 3 months from any prior perm staff or per diem role at the facility to be eligible for rehire RTO should ideally not exceed 5 days First-time travelers are welcome to apply Pre-start onboarding modules required prior to starting assignment Facility does not provide references to travelers post-assignment or to former perm employees American Traveler Job ID P-750116.
