Job Summary Full Time (40 hours) Monday - Friday AM Shift. Approximate pay range: $29.63 - $35.37 per hour. Acts as the primary liaison for provider offices to initiate the acquisition of authorizations or outpatient services at St. Rose Hospital. Facilitates scheduling of patients for services in ancillary departments. Builds rapport with provider offices. Ensures accurate patient demographic, financial and medical coverage information is obtained during insurance verification and pre‑registration. Operates a multi‑line phone system and communicates with patients, visitors, physicians, and staff. Job Description / Responsibilities Initiates and maintains effective communication channels with providers and their office staff. Assists providers with securing prior authorizations for outpatient hospital services. Assists providers and/or provider office staff with completing the outside vendor process to gain access to Meditech and review necessary reports and exam results. Verifies patient’s insurance eligibility using payer tools or other methods. Maintains log of all received orders and records progress with authorizations using web‑based tools. Required Qualifications High school graduate or equivalent, with at least one year of healthcare experience. Ability to communicate with customers pleasantly, courteously, and diplomatically, and handle difficult situations with patients, families, physicians, and co‑workers. Demonstrates ability to perform a variety of tasks subject to frequent change and willingness to accommodate changes in work schedules because of staffing issues. Prior experience facilitating authorizations for hospital services preferred. Prior medical office experience and working knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, commercial payers and independent physicians associations preferred. Completion of a Medical Terminology course preferred. Experience Minimum 1 year.
