Outside Generator Sales Representative

We are seeking an experienced Outside Generator Sales Representative to support customers throughout Massachusetts and New Hampshire, selling residential and commercial generator systems and related solutions.

This is a field-based technical sales position involving customer development, project bidding, site visits, equipment quoting, and collaboration with electricians and engineers. The successful candidate will combine strong sales ability with hands-on knowledge of electrical systems and generator equipment.

Candidates must have prior generator and electrical experience and be comfortable reviewing plans, specifications, and project requirements to develop accurate proposals and quotes.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain customer relationships throughout the Massachusetts and New Hampshire territory.
• Sell residential and commercial generator systems and related solutions.
• Identify new sales opportunities through prospecting, customer relationships, referrals, and open bid postings.
• Review project specifications, plans, and bid documents to determine generator requirements.
• Prepare quotes for generator installations, replacements, and related projects.
• Conduct customer and project site visits throughout the assigned territory.
• Work closely with electricians, engineers, contractors, and other industry professionals throughout the sales process.
• Follow projects from initial opportunity and bidding through proposal, negotiation, and close.
• Maintain an active sales pipeline and follow up on outstanding quotes and opportunities.
• Provide customers with knowledgeable guidance regarding generator applications and project requirements.

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of sales experience required.
• 2+ years of electrical experience required.
• 2+ years of generator experience required.
• Experience selling or working with residential and/or commercial generator systems.
• Ability to read and interpret project plans, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Experience with estimating, bidding, quoting, or proposal development.
• Ability to communicate effectively with electricians, engineers, contractors, and customers.
• Strong customer-service, organization, and follow-up skills.
• Comfortable working independently in a field-based sales environment with regular regional travel.
• Valid driver's license.

Preferred Background

Candidates with experience in generator sales, standby power systems, electrical equipment, power generation, electrical contracting, or related technical equipment sales are strongly encouraged to apply.

Experience working with commercial contractors, engineers, electrical contractors, facilities, or residential generator customers is highly desirable.

Territory

This position covers customers throughout Massachusetts and New Hampshire and requires regular travel for customer meetings, project visits, and sales activities.

Candidates should be located within reasonable traveling distance of the assigned territory and comfortable spending significant time in the field.
