Summary You will serve as an ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the ENGINEERING and PLANNING DEPARTMENT, TEST ENGINEERING and WORK CONTROL DIVISION (Code 246) of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF. Salary Ranges: GS-11: $77,964 - $101,359 GS-12: $93,445 - $121,482 Responsibilities You will plan, develop and coordinate a non-nuclear Weight Testing and/or Work Control Program utilizing established procedures which include Weight Tests, Work Authorization Forms (WAFs) and tag outs. You will process WAFs and tag outs. You will coordinate and direct all assigned weight tests with shops and ship’s force personnel. You will utilize engineering technician skills and knowledge during performance of submarine and surface ship weight test procedures. You will assist in the development of new procedures for analysis and testing by learning new requirements, testing out new methods, and procedures, and gathering test data for evaluation of the procedure. You will review and analyze Technical Work Documents, Project Directives, specifications, technical drawings, technical manuals, engineering standards, modifications, and amendments. You will assist with reviewing the availability work package (AWP) and apply technical, operational, and safety requirements in preparing work control and test documents. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector planning and interpreting engineering technical guides; resolving critical technical engineering problems; preparing estimates and/or developing technical engineering instructions and procedures to execute projects for weight testing or weight handling testing on surface ships, submarines, or ashore. GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector assisting with weight testing or weight handling testing on surface ships, submarines, or ashore for resolving engineering problems, project design and projects.
