Fabrication Group Leader II

Job Location: Pryer Aerospace Tulsa - Tulsa, OK 74115 Role: Aerospace Group Leader II – responsible for leading and coordinating daily operations across manufacturing, supply chain, procurement, shipping & receiving, quality, and safety functions to ensure streamlined production processes, efficient material flow, supplier coordination, timely logistics, accurate labor collection, and facility readiness. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS MANUFACTURING SUPPORT Lead manufacturing teams to meet daily production schedules, promoting a positive attitude while ensuring adherence to Quality, Cost, Delivery and Safety standards. Monitor work-in-progress, resolve workflow bottlenecks, and drive process efficiency. Support implementation of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives. SUPPLY CHAIN & PROCURING COORDINATION Coordinate material planning with supply chain and procurement teams to ensure part availability. Support procurement activities including vendor communication, expediting orders, and resolving supply issues. Track supplier performance and escalating delivery or quality concerns as needed. LOGISTICS AND SHIPPING/RECEIVING OVERSIGHT Oversee inbound and outbound logistics operations, ensuring compliance with documentation and labeling standards. Ensure shipments are received, inspected, and processed into inventory accurately and on time. Collaborate with logistics providers to track deliveries and manage freight claims when necessary. QUALITY SUPPORT Lead quality teams to meet daily work schedules, promoting a positive attitude while ensuring adherence to Quality Standards. Ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001 and customer specific quality requirements. Investigate non-conformances and lead root cause analysis and corrective action (RCCA) processes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve quality processes and reduce defects. Train team on quality procedures and standard practices. SAFETY GUIDANCE Adhere to OSHA, FAA, and company – specific standards at all times. Maintain cleanliness and organization in all work areas to prevent incidents. Identify and report potential hazards, unsafe conditions, or near‑miss incidents immediately. Ensure all personnel wear, maintain proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required for each task. Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, material handling protocols, and equipment safeguards. LEADERSHIP & TEAM DEVELOPMENT Lead a cross‑functional team of operators, technicians, logistics personnel, quality and maintenance staff. Conduct daily stand‑up meetings and provide clear communication on priorities and KPIs. Coach team members, support onboarding, and assist in performance evaluations. QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field preferred. 4–6 years of relevant experience in aerospace or manufacturing environments, including at least 2 years in a leadership capacity. Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Epicor, Oracle) and familiarity with procurement and inventory control processes. Understanding quality and compliance standards such as AS9100, ISO 9001, ITAR. Strong problem-solving, communication, and cross‑functional coordination skills. Certification in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or APICS (CPIM/CSCP). Experience managing supplier relationships or sourcing initiatives. Familiarity with shipping and trade compliance. Working knowledge of CMMS software for maintenance tracking. CORE COMPETENCIES Effective team leadership and coaching. Operational planning and execution. OTHER REQUIREMENTS Legally able to work in the US. Adhere to OSHA, NADCAP, ISO9000 / AS9100, ITAR, FAA regulations and company specific safety standards. Internal certifications: Forklift, Slings/Cranes, FPV, or others deemed appropriate. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods (up to 8-12 hours per shift), lift and carry between 25-50 lbs regularly, and occasionally heavier with assistance. Must tolerate exposure to moderate noise, vibrations, and varying temperatures. Ability to wear required personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection. WORK ENVIRONMENT On the production floor, PPE is required depending on department and product (e.g., gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection). SAFETY SENSITIVE This position is designated as Safety Sensitive under Oklahoma law, including the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana and Patient Protection Act.
