Position Overview

A leading rehabilitation facility in Schenectady, New York is seeking a skilled and compassionate Physiatrist (Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Physician) to join its team. This opportunity is ideal for a physician dedicated to providing comprehensive rehabilitation care for patients recovering from complex medical conditions, injuries, and functional impairments. The Physiatrist will collaborate with an interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop and manage individualized treatment plans focused on improving patient function, independence, and quality of life.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive rehabilitation medical care for patients with complex medical and functional needs.

• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with neurological, musculoskeletal, and disabling conditions.

• Develop and oversee individualized rehabilitation plans in collaboration with therapy teams and clinical staff.

• Perform patient assessments, establish rehabilitation goals, and monitor progress.

• Manage conditions including pain, mobility limitations, spasticity, and functional impairments.

• Provide medical oversight for physical, occupational, and speech therapy programs.

• Participate in interdisciplinary care meetings and coordinate treatment strategies.

• Educate patients and families regarding recovery plans, treatment options, and long-term care goals.

• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure quality patient care standards.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R).

• Active New York medical license or eligibility to obtain one.

• Strong clinical knowledge in rehabilitation medicine.

• Excellent communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.
