Location: Danbury, CT Compensation: $50,000 $55,000
About The Opportunity
Our client is looking for a Junior Accountant to join their accounting team in Danbury, CT. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their accounting career who wants to gain hands-on experience across a variety of accounting functions while working alongside an experienced finance team.
The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting, excellent attention to detail, and a willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with day-to-day accounting activities and general ledger maintenance
- Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations
- Support month-end and year-end close processes
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
- Research and resolve discrepancies as needed
- Assist with financial reporting and maintaining accurate accounting records
- Prepare supporting documentation for audits and reporting
- Assist with special projects and process improvements
- Ensure accounting activities are completed accurately and in a timely manner
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
- 1+ year of accounting experience; internship experience will be considered
- Understanding of general accounting principles
- Experience with journal entries and account reconciliations
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
- Eager to learn and grow within an accounting environment
