Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

The role of Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) is to provide comprehensive respiratory care to patients of all ages under physician direction in a supportive, patient-focused hospital environment. The RRT delivers treatments, monitors cardiopulmonary conditions, and participates in emergency response and interdisciplinary collaboration to ensure optimal patient outcomes. This position supports the organization's commitment to high-quality respiratory care and patient safety.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide respiratory therapy treatments and interventions as ordered by physicians or approved practitioners
• Assess, treat, and monitor patients with cardiopulmonary disorders
• Respond to emergency situations and actively participate in emergency drills
• Operate and maintain respiratory care equipment safely and effectively
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Educate patients and families on respiratory conditions, treatments, and discharge instructions
• Support and involve Primary Support Persons or family members in patient care when appropriate
• Ensure all respiratory care services are delivered in accordance with hospital policies and procedures
• Demonstrate professionalism, clinical competency, and commitment to organizational values

Qualifications:

• Completion of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
• Active Respiratory Therapist License in the State of Ohio
• National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) Certification
• BLS, ACLS, and NRP Certifications
• S.T.A.B.L.E. Certification

Preferred Skills:

• 13 years of respiratory therapy experience in a clinical or hospital setting
