Job Overview The purpose of this position is to assist the Court in the judicial process of assessing and collecting fees, fines, and costs to ensure compliance with court orders and increase collection rates. Responsibilities Assist the Court in assessing and collecting fees, fines, and costs, ensuring compliance with court orders and increasing collection rates. Issue and distribute warrants. Provide customer service and maintain files. Collect in past‑due accounts. Perform diversified clerical work, place delinquent cases into collections with F.A.R.E., provide administrative support, and perform a variety of clerical functions. Answer inquiries on cases regarding fines, fees, payments, due dates, warrants, suspensions, and compliance requirements. Manage telephone and in‑person customer interactions including greeting the public, providing filing information, accepting payments, issuing receipts, rescheduling court dates, and responding to general inquiries. Receive and process court payments, issue receipts, reschedule payment due dates, update address and phone information, process bonds into appropriate folders, and enter payment information into the computer system. Receive and examine legal documents for sufficiency, completeness, conformity, jurisdiction, and/or validity before acceptance; certify or file documents. Open court cases in the court system, prepare document files, file a variety of legal documents and related case materials, search for missing files, copy materials to requesting individuals or agencies, and follow procedures for updating, scanning, and/or purging files. Enter and track data in an automated case management system; query the automated docket to extract and provide case information. Assist the public on the phone or at the counter with the use of court forms, filing procedures, and other matters requiring technical, legal, or judicial procedures; receive and complete orders for services/materials; evaluate the need for service and direct individuals or calls to the appropriate office; assist individuals in locating materials/information; explain fees and fines. Issue warrants and prepare related files and docket entries. Respond to inquiries from the public, attorneys, case witnesses, and law enforcement representatives; research case status, documents, and apply rules and procedures. Receive, compute, classify, and post fees and/or fines for criminal, criminal traffic, and civil cases; issue receipts; post and reconcile account records for daily activity. Analyze, docket, index, and process legal documents, judgments, and minute entries as required; prepare legal documentation pursuant to court orders, rules, and statutes. Compose correspondence to defendants, law enforcement, attorneys, and other entities. Use office equipment such as copiers, cash registers, scanners, and computers; maintain knowledge of Word and Excel. Compose written documents and prepare routine reports and correspondence related to official court actions. Perform other duties as assigned. #J-18808-Ljbffr
