The Associate Patient Care Coordinator functions as an integral member of the team and is the first point of contact for all people inquiring about the provider's practice. The primary role is to organize the practice's daily activities and paperwork. Associate Patient Care Coordinator is responsible for the completion of set processes and protocols. Works cooperatively with all members of the care team to support the vision and mission of the organization, deliver excellent customer service and adhere to Lean processes. Supports the teams in meeting financial, clinical and service goals Working Hours: (40Hours a week ) Monday through Friday an 8-hour shift to be determined from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. May change due to business needs. Location : 21401 72 nd Ave. W, Third Floor, Edmonds, WA 98026 and 3901 Hoyt Ave., Everett, WA 98201 Primary Responsibilities: * Greet customers into practice and provide instruction and/or direction as necessary both on the phone and in person * Obtain accurate and updated patient information, such as name, address, insurance information * Perform insurance verification on the date of service * Follow the payment Security policy and procedures according to Optum Medical guidelines * Answers incoming phone calls in a courteous and prompt manner; directs calls and takes messages * Ability to maintain a work queue list- complete any pending actions ie insurance eligibility * Obtain patient signatures for required documents * Upload a valid Government issued state ID of patient and patient insurance cards * Schedule and coordinate all patient appointments as directed * Maintain an organized and clean work area, free of clutter * Prepare all documentation and records with accuracy as directed or necessary for the patient's care * Meet or exceed the performance measures established by the Practice Management Dept. * Follow established policy and procedures related to the position * Participate and contribute to a team-based environment * Maintain a team supportive attendance record * Understand and deliver quality customer service that is consistent with Optum's efforts in becoming a High-Performance Organization * Follow OSHA/WISHA (including usage of PPE) guidelines * Follow HIPAA regulations * Adapt and perform effectively in a continuously changing environment, and in occasional difficult situations * Ability to cover other offices as needed * P erforms other duties as assigned What are the reasons to consider working for UnitedHealth Group? Required Qualifications: * High School Diploma/GED * 1+ years of computer proficiency experience (multi-task through multiple applications including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word) * 1+ years of customer service or Healthcare experience * Ability to travel to both locations * 21401 72 nd Ave. W, Third Floor, Edmonds, WA 98026 * 3901 Hoyt Ave., Everett, WA 98201 Preferred Qualifications: * 1+ years of experience working knowledge of Epic EMR software * Experience taking inbound and making outbound calls * 1+ years of experience working in a medical office position performing duties such as scheduling appointments, checking patients in/out, and insurance verification or Healthcare experience Soft Skills: * Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment * Ability to work cohesively with a diverse team * Strong organizational and time management skills * Ability to work independently or in a team setting as directed * Ability to maintain good judgment and accountability * Demonstrated ability to work well with health care providers and clinical team * Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks to meet all deadlines * Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to speak clearly and concisely, conveying information in a manner that others can understand, as well as ability to understand and interpret information from others Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $16 to $29 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
