Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) Oncology ContractLocation: Brandywine, MDEmployment Type: ContractSalary Range: $45 to $50 /hrPosition OverviewNurseAmerica is seeking a skilled and compassionate Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) to join a high-quality outpatient oncology practice. This role is ideal for nurses with infusion and oncology experience who are passionate about delivering safe, patient-centered cancer care in a collaborative clinical environment.The Infusion RN provides professional nursing care in accordance with national standards, specialty guidelines, and organizational policies while supporting patients throughout their treatment journey.Key ResponsibilitiesPlan, coordinate, implement, and evaluate patient care to ensure continuity and quality outcomesConduct comprehensive nursing assessments, including medical history, labs, imaging, and psychosocial needsPrepare and administer infusion therapies under physician supervisionAdminister medications and blood products using proper protocols and safety standardsPerform venipuncture; access and maintain implanted ports and central venous devicesMonitor patient response to treatment and collaborate with providers on dose adjustments and symptom managementProvide patient and family education, counseling, and psychosocial supportMaintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and charge captureEnsure all pre-authorizations and consents are obtained prior to treatmentManage patient flow, scheduling, triage calls, and follow-up careAssist physicians with exams and proceduresFollow OSHA, infection control, and hazardous material handling guidelinesMaintain treatment areas, supplies, and equipment per quality standardsServe as a resource and mentor to LPNs, medical assistants, and less experienced nursesCollaborate with interdisciplinary teams and clinical research as applicableParticipate in ongoing oncology education and professional developmentInfusion-Specific ResponsibilitiesProgram and manage ambulatory infusion pumps for continuous drug deliveryEducate patients and caregivers on home infusion pump useClean, maintain, and document infusion pump usageChemotherapy/Immunotherapy Provider Card preferredQualificationsGraduate of an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred)Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of MarylandCurrent BLS certification35 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in oncology preferredInfusion nursing experience strongly preferredOncology certification preferredStrong clinical judgment, communication, and organizational skillsWork Environment & Physical RequirementsOutpatient oncology/hematology clinic settingPossible exposure to radiation, cytotoxic agents, and communicable diseasesProlonged standing and walkingAbility to lift and carry up to 40 lbsManual dexterity and visual/hearing acuity requiredApply now and make an impact where it matters most!
