Payroll Supervisor

Job Title: Payroll Supervisor (multi-state) – Hours: M-F 8am-5pm, Location: Raleigh, NC. Salary: $75,000 - $90,000 per year. Benefits Competitive base salary Company‑paid health plan for employees Very generous PTO Small team, autonomy Additional perks available Responsibilities Hands‑on processing of payroll and related transactions, directly managing all aspects of payroll to ensure timely and accurate semi‑monthly processing of salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions. Respond to routine inquiries concerning payroll deductions, wage garnishments, and earning verifications. Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, promotions, and changes to pay rates. Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports of payroll transactions. Facilitate audits by providing records and documentation to auditors. Plan, manage projects, and communicate to stay ahead of employee payroll needs. Identify and recommend updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures. Work in conjunction with the Accounting department for payroll auditing. Qualifications Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes. Associate degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field. Five to seven years of processing payroll for a multi‑state organization.
